ਪੇਂਟਿੰਗ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਦੇਖਣ ਲਈ ਇਕ ਤਸਵੀਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ। ਹਰ ਰਚਨਾ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਉਸਦੇ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀ ਮਿਹਨਤ, ਪਿਆਰ, ਸਿਦਕ, ਨਿਸ਼ਠਾ ਤੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਉਸਦੀ ਰੂਹ ਰਚੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਇਕ ਪੇਂਟਿੰਗ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਉਸੇ ਕੈਨਵਸ ’ਤੇ ਬਣਾਉਣਾ ਤੇ ਮਿਟਾਉਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਵਾਰ ਰੰਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਚਿੱਤਰ ਬਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਗੋਂ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਜਜਬਾਤ ਵੀ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੰਗੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮਨ ਦੀ ਹਾਲਤ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਪੇਂਟਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਝਲਕਦੀ ਹੈ—ਹਰ ਬ੍ਰਸ਼ ਸਟ੍ਰੋਕ ਇਕ ਅੰਦਰੂਨੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਬਿਆਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਹਰ ਇਕ ਪੇਂਟਿੰਗ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਹਨ; ਹਰ ਰਚਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਮੋਹ ਹੈ। ਇਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੈਂ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦੀ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਹਰ ਪੇਂਟਿੰਗ ਕਿਸੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕਦਰਦਾਨ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿਚ ਜਾਵੇ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਉਸੇ ਗਹਿਰਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਕਦਰ ਕਰੇ ਜਿਸ ਗਹਿਰਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਬਣਾਈ ਗਈ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਸੰਭਾਲੇ।
ਪੇਂਟਿੰਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਣਿਆ ਇਹ ਰਿਸਤਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰ ਤੇ ਕੈਨਵਸ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ, ਸਗੋਂ ਇਕ ਰੂਹਾਨੀ ਸਾਂਝ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਰਚਨਾ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਪਿਆਰ ਸਹੀ–ਗਲਤ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਕੋਈ ਸੋਧ ਉਸ ਅਕਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਉਹ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਜਾਦੂ ਖੋ ਬੈਠਦਾ ਹੈ—ਪਰ ਇਕ ਗੱਲ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਹੈ: ਉਹ ਅਕਸ ਫਿਰ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ। ਹਰ ਪੇਂਟਿੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਇਹ ਸਫ਼ਰ, ਇਹ ਰਿਸਤਾ, ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ’ਚ ਇਕ ਅਲੱਗ ਹੀ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਛੱਡ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
A painting is never just an image to be looked at. Every work carries within it the artist’s hard work, love, dedication, faith—and above all, a piece of their soul. To complete a single painting, the canvas is often painted and erased many times. With every layer of color, countless emotions flow into the artwork, becoming part of its very essence.
The state of mind always reveals itself in a painting—each brushstroke tells a quiet inner story. For me, every painting is like a child; I hold a deep affection for each one. That is why I always hope that every piece finds its way to someone who will cherish it with the same depth of feeling with which it was created and will keep it with love.
The bond between an artist and their painting is not just one of creation, but of spirit. When love for a work takes root, it rises above the ideas of right or wrong. Sometimes a change or revision can make the piece even more beautiful; sometimes it can make it lose the magic it first held. But one thing is certain—once touched, it will never be the same. Each painting leaves an everlasting mark on my heart and becomes a part of my inner journey.
